Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, Ryan Mackenzie voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans yesterday.
House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes $87.3 million from Pennsylvania for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.
The program most hurt by Mackenzie and Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.
REMINDER: Under Mackenzie’s Big, Ugly Law alone, Pennsylvanians would see a spike of $164 in annual energy bills.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Ryan Mackenzie has now voted TWICE this year to raise energy costs on hardworking Pennsylvanians. His vote is both political malpractice and incredibly cruel to millions of households struggling to pay their bills. As working families across the country see their utility bills go up and up, the DCCC will make sure everyone knows Mackenzie is to blame when they vote in 2026.”
