Salazar Panics Over Losing the Hispanic Vote and Admits Republicans are Failing

Salazar’s own failures on the economy and immigration are putting FL-27 solidly in play in 2026

Following resounding victories in Virginia and New Jersey that were  bolstered by historic shifts in the Latino vote, María Elvira Salazar panicked on Twitter pointing out that Tuesday night was the result of her and House Republicans’ failures to deliver.

Salazar remarks that Latino voters are abandoning the Republican party because they have failed to make life more affordable, they’ve failed to improve the economy, and they’ve failed to meaningfully and humanely address our immigration crisis.

Unfortunately for Salazar, she is part of the problem.

  • Salazar has remained silent as over 231,000 of her constituents face nearly 100% cost increases in their insurance premiums
  • Salazar voted to kick nearly 100,000 of her constituents off their health care
  • Salazar failed to stand up to Trump and protect hardworking immigrant communities from him as he ripped away TPS
  • Salazar made it harder for immigrants in her communities to start small businesses
  • Salazar voted to gut SNAP funding by $300 billion

DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“María Elvira Salazar should spend less time screaming into her phone and more time looking in the mirror. What Salazar saw on Tuesday night was a glimpse into her own future – the voters are going to send her packing too next November.”
