Schweikert’s Damaging Ethics Violations Draw in Primary Challenger

Even Republicans know Schweikert is Vulnerable in AZ-06

Fresh off being slapped with one of the largest ethics fines in House history, Rep. David Schweikert drew his first primary challenger today – proving that even Republicans know just how vulnerable Schweikert and his corrupt past are in AZ-06.

Citing Schweikert’s history of admitting to ‘some of the most serious ethics violations in United States history,’ insurance executive Elijah Norton – who previously donated to Schweikert – signaled his interest in jumping in what is sure to be a damaging primary for the GOP nomination.

“You know things are bad when members of Schweikert’s own party – including his former donor – are mounting a campaign against him because of his shady past,” said DCCC spokesperson Johanna Warshaw. “No matter how hard Schweikert tries, he can’t outrun his history of corruption and exploiting American taxpayers for his own personal gain.”
