Following the Supreme Court’s overturn of fifty years of legal precedent, Republicans are losing no time in plotting draconian attacks to further restrict women’s reproductive rights.
If they retake majorities in Congress this fall, Republicans plan on pushing a 6-week national ban on abortion, despite overwhelming public support for abortion access.
As a former assemblyman and Chair of the Orange County Republicans, Scott Baugh affirmed his opposition to abortion rights and opened the door for pregnant women to face legal repercussions for seeking abortions.
A recent California statewide poll revealed Roe v. Wade is supported by Democrats, independents and Republicans alike; while experts predict reproductive rights will be a mobilizing factor among California swing voters this November. The broadly college-educated, suburban residents of California’s 47th district will not take kindly to Baugh’s out-of-touch and dangerous views.

“Make no mistake – this assault on reproductive rights does not stop with the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe. If Republicans retake the House this November, they will push a nationwide abortion ban. With his long record of opposing reproductive rights, Scott Baugh will be a rubber stamp on this extreme agenda. The stakes have never been higher for Orange County voters to reject Republicans’ vile, anti-choice attacks and send Rep. Katie Porter back to Congress.”
