Scott Perry Among Potential Witnesses in Fulton County Case

The bad headlines keep piling up for Scott Perry as more details about his involvement in the attempt to overturn the election that led to the January 6 insurrection are unveiled.

This week, Fulton County prosecutors named Perry as a potential witness in Georgia’s criminal case against Donald Trump for his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

“Perry’s inclusion on the list is not a surprise, given his heightened involvement in questioning election results and – as some recently-revealed communications have shown – his interest in helping Trump find people who could help execute some of his strategies,” writes PennLive.

Following the attack on the nation’s Capitol, Perry:

  • Denied his role as a “go-between for operatives close to Trump” in Trump’s attempts to overturn the election.

  • Downplayed Jan. 6 and voted against creating a bipartisan commission to investigate the attack.

  • Voted against a bill to give Congressional Gold Medals to Capitol and Washington, D.C. Metro police for their service on Jan. 6, calling it “all politics, all garbage.”

  • Voted to protect election-deniers who refused to comply with congressional subpoenas related to the attack.

  • Funneled taxpayer dollars to an insurrectionist charged with assaulting a police officer who donated thousands of dollars to his campaign.

DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Scott Perry is a direct threat to our democracy and our freedoms. As one of the ringleaders of the efforts that led to the violent insurrection on January 6th, it’d be no surprise if he’s called to court. Perry will always put his right-wing conspiracy theories over the people of Pennsylvania.”
