With only two days left before a MAGA manufactured shutdown, Scott Perry ignored calls to keep the government running and instead pushed a dangerous bill last night that attacked women’s reproductive freedom and slashed nutrition assistance working families depend on.
In addition to massive cuts to food assistance programs and a disgusting effort to discriminate against LGBTQ+ Americans, the centerpiece of the legislation is new nationwide restriction on the safe, legal abortion medication mifepristone.
REMINDER: Recently, the chair of the GOP Conference reiterated the Republican plot to enact a nationwide abortion ban – asserting Republicans “will get [it] done.”
Instead of working in a bipartisan way to invest in America and avert a devastating shutdown, Perry decided to pursue his extreme MAGA agenda to restrict access to reproductive care nationwide.
