Scott Perry Doubles Down on ‘Default on America Act’

Perry’s ‘NO’ Vote Tonight Reinforces ‘Default on America Act’s’ Extreme Cuts that Hurt Working Families

This evening, Scott Perry doubled-down on his extreme vote to cut veterans’ benefits, funding for law enforcement agencies, and critical investments that keep working families safe, secure, and healthy. Perry is willing to push for these disastrous cuts and hold our economy hostage – triggering a job-killing recession and gutting Americans’ retirement savings – if he doesn’t get his way.

In fact, Perry even voted ‘No’ to considering legislation that would avoid a catastrophic default and harm America’s economy.

The DCCC will continue to hold Scott Perry accountable for continuing to push an extreme, out-of-touch agenda that hurts hardworking American families.

Last month, the DCCC detailed just how devastating these cuts would be to Pennsylvania and communities across the country.

DCCC spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Scott Perry has made crystal clear that he will always put his extreme agenda above investing in the needs of working families in his district. Whether it’s slashing veterans’ benefits or threatening hard-earned benefits that seniors have worked hard for, it’s clear that Scott Perry is too out-of-step and extreme to represent Pennsylvania any more.”
