As Pennsylvanians brace for a GOP-manufactured shutdown, Scott Perry is leading the charge to defund critical Amtrak infrastructure in Pennsylvania, saying “we’ve got to stop funding” the program.
The MAGA extremist’s proposal would derail investments and slash Amtrak’s budget by 64%, furthering a far-right policy agenda that will threaten jobs and harm Pennsylvanians.
Perry’s vendetta against the best interests of his constituents comes after Democrats announced $16.4 billion to upgrade tracks, improve travel times, and reduce delays for Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor. The funding is being provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Perry opposed, which Democrats passed to deliver real results for families and workers across Pennsylvania.
