Scott Perry, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Brian Fitzpatrick Are Making Pennsylvanians Go Hungry

Because of Pennsylvania’s GOP Congressmen, 2 million Pennsylvanians risk having food ripped off their tables

Republican Congressmen Scott Perry, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Brian Fitzpatrick have found a new political strategy this week: Let Pennsylvanians go hungry.

Starting November 1st, federal food aid will stop going to the American people because Republicans refuse to use emergency funds set aside by Congress for food assistance – effectively cutting off all federal funding for SNAP benefits.

2 million Pennsylvanians are at risk of losing SNAP benefits that help them put food on their families’ tables because Republicans don’t want to spend the money – even though it’s available. Meanwhile, Perry, Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Fitzpatrick are refusing to get back to work.

REMINDER: Perry, Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Fitzpatrick already voted for the largest cuts to SNAP in history earlier this year, making Americans pay more for their groceries. Now, they’re doubling down on their cruelty and holding this key program hostage that feeds Pennsylvanians and keeps food affordable.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Scott Perry, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Brian Fitzpatrick have fled Washington and refuse to lift a finger to help Pennsylvanians who may go hungry and are struggling with the cost of groceries. Voters will remember their cruelty at the ballot box next year.”
