As SCOTUS Rules For DREAMers, David Valadao Has Been All Hat And No Cattle In Protecting The Central Valley’s DREAMers

Valadao to Central Valley DREAMers: I’ll Do Everything In My Power” … Valadao Then Voted 21 Times To Block The Dream Act

As the Supreme Court rejects the Trump Administration’s efforts to end DACA and sides with hundreds of thousands of DREAMers and their families, let’s not forget the reckless record of former Central Valley Congressman David Valadao.

Despite representing a district that voted against Trump by 16 points, David Valadao voted along with Donald Trump 98% of the time and voted 21 times to block the Dream Act.

For the record:

  • Valadao voted to jeopardize DACA.
  • Valadao opposed extending DACA and DAPA.
  • Valadao refused to answer whether or not legal immigration should go up or down, essentially pulling out the rug from his pro-DREAMer rhetoric.
  • Valadao as a state legislator voted against California’s DREAM Act.

Statement from DCCC Spokesperson Andy Orellana:

“When it comes to protecting DREAMers in the Central Valley, failed former Congressman David Valadao is all hat and no cattle, telling his constituents at the time that he’d do ‘everything’ in his power to help DREAMers, before refusing to sign a bipartisan petition to force a vote on the DREAM Act –the very act he already co-sponsored – and going on to vote a total of 21 times to block the DREAM Act to come up for a full vote. Valadao’s Trumpian double-speak is the duplicitous and lackluster leadership he provided in Congress and exactly why the voters of the Central Valley rejected him in 2018 and will do so again in November.”
