SEVEN MONTHS IN A ROW AND COUNTING: DCCC Handily Outraises NRCC (Again)

POLITICO: “the DCCC is lapping the NRCC”

The July fundraising totals for the DCCC and NRCC are in, and they’re only bringing more woes for Washington Republicans.

With fears continuing to mount of a Republican retirement ‘tsunami’ as vulnerable House Republicans head for the exits, the NRCC is struggling to stay above water, raising a paltry $4.1 million last month even as they spent almost $5.5 million.

The DCCC, in contrast, raised over $7.2 million in July – outraising House Republicans for the seventh month in a row in 2019 alone – leading POLITICO to comment that House Democrats are “lapping the NRCC.”

Mirroring Democrats’ financial dominance at the national level, Democratic House campaigns have raked in almost $20 million more that their Republican counterparts over the course of the first six months of this year, positioning House Democrats for success in hard-fought districts next year.

With this strong financial advantage, the DCCC is continuing to fortify our majority and remaining on offense, announcing last week that it’s expanding the Congressional battlefield to six more Republican-held seats.

“Getting badly outraised again must sting for the NRCC, but after being outraised seven out of the seven months in 2019, House Republicans should be getting used to it,” said DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter. “As Republican incumbents flee for the exits, Democrats are busy working to fortify and expand our majority by expanding the battlefield and ensuring that our members and challengers will have the resources they need to win next November.”
