SHOT/CHASER: Corrupt Carlos Claims County “Flattened the Curve”; Cases Spike in Miami Dade

SHOT:

Last week at a Financial Literacy Webinar, Corrupt Carlos Giménez claimed: “The good news is that here in Miami-Dade County we have flattened the curve of this virus.”

Yesterday, Carlos also followed Vice President Pence’s advice, doubling down on the idea that any increase in cases are only because of increased testing: “‘It’s a percentage of positives. It’s really not the number of people that we see,’ he said. ‘Obviously, the more people you test, the more people you’re going to have positive.’”

Miami Herald Headline: Florida sees a record 2,783 daily coronavirus cases as state total hits 80,000

A Miami Herald analysis of public and non-public COVID-19 data found that as of June 3, new cases in the state had consistently been trending up since mid-May and the trends could not be attributed solely to increases in testing, which had been inconsistent and sometimes declining during that period. “As Corrupt Carlos copies and pastes Trump Administration talking points, Miami-Dade COVID-19 cases continue to rise, aided by the Mayor’s complete and total denial of reality,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “That’s the problem with facts: they don’t care whether or not you believe them.”
