SHOT/CHASER: Emmer Says Midterms Aren’t About Trump While Invoking Trump to Threaten Grassroots Donors

SHOT: In an interview with Fox News, responding to a question on who is the most influential and popular politician in the GOP, NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer said the midterms are “not about President Trump” and that Trump is merely “a private citizen” who “can do whatever he sees fit”

CHASER: Emmer’s NRCC continues their scare tactics to guilt grassroots donors, with such threats as Trump will be “erased from existence” and donors will be outed to Trump and branded traitors if they don’t pony up.

In an ad sent just this week for MI-07 GOP candidate and NRCC Young Gun Tom Barrett, Trump is the sole focus of their plea for money as they beg donors not to let Trump be “erased from existence.”
