Shot/Chaser: Miller-Meeks Advocates For Higher Drug Costs After Taking Thousands from Big Pharma

Following today’s announcement on the first set of drugs to be subject to Medicare pricing negotiation thanks to the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, Mariannette Miller-Meeks is making it clear she prioritizes Big Pharma over Iowa families.

Shot: Miller-Meeks has taken nearly $130,000 from Big Pharma and voted against the Inflation Reduction Act – historic legislation that lowers the cost of prescription drugs and caps the cost of insulin at $35 per month.

Chaser: Now, Miller-Meeks is actively advocating against allowing Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices and decrease costs for hard working Iowans.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks would rather protect Big Pharma’s profits than lower the cost of lifesaving drugs for Iowa families. Iowans deserve a representative who works for them, not the lobbyists and corporate interests who bankroll their campaigns.”
