A year ago the NRCC and Tom Emmer were boasting about their fundraising numbers. Today, we see that Republicans have raised less money from online donors in the first part of 2022 than they did in the second part of 2021 – a sign that enthusiasm for Republicans is drying up and more evidence that Tom Emmer’s weak leadership continues to cost Republicans.
SHOT: A year ago, Republicans were cheering that they were gaining ground on fundraising and boasted about indications of a red wave.

CHASER: Today, Republicans trail in fundraising, the NRCC underperforms the DCCC in monthly fundraising month after month, GOP donors are fed up with deceptive fundraising techniques, and GOP strategists confirm that the idea of a red wave has vanished and that the battlefield is “neutral.”
Republican dark money groups are pouring millions into battleground seats to try and save flawed GOP candidates because grassroots donors are refusing to support extreme, out-of-touch, self-serving Republicans who want to rip away freedoms. While Emmer and McCarthy face embarrassment for measuring the drapes too soon, Democrats head into the last two months of this election with the support of grassroots donors, fired up voters, and a record of delivering for the American people.
