SHOT: This morning, in an interview on WVOM, Poliquin said five times he never voted against reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank:
“One thing I want to mention Rick because I think you and George mentioned it yesterday on your show and I hate to correct you but I want to make it clear, there has been no vote on reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. Mr. Hochberg who runs the bank has come before the committee and we’ve grilled him because of the fraud and corruption over there that’s gone on for years. There’s been no vote out of the committee, there’s been no vote on the floor. So nobody has voted on whether or not to reauthorize the bank.”
“Again I want to make sure that all your listeners just like you said there has been no vote on this bank.”
CHASER: This afternoon, Poliquin voted to block reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank for the sixth time. [Roll Call Votes- #116, #126, #371, #379, #483, #499]
Statement from DCCC spokesman Jeb Fain: “Congressman Poliquin has recklessly played politics by opposing reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank, and now Mainers are paying the price. If Poliquin really wanted to help keep jobs in Maine, he would have taken any of the six opportunities to break with House Republicans when they voted to block a measure reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. Unfortunately, Poliquin’s shirking responsibility shows he’s clearly more concerned about losing his own job, than the 80 Maine workers who may now lose theirs.”
