Local elected officials and community leaders—including members of Mike Lawler’s own party—are calling for immediate action following a recent report from LoHud revealing that Lawler’s deputy district director, Erin Crowley, allegedly infiltrated a private Signal chat group of political opponents under a false identity.
Joining the dozen Hudson Valley community and political organizations that have already called for Crowley’s resignation, several local Republican leaders are also speaking out, deeming Crowley untrustworthy and calling on her to be fired if she acted alone—adding that if Lawler was involved, he “should go down.”
Meanwhile, Lawler and Crowley are still nowhere to be found.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler’s silence is so deafening that even Republicans are speaking out against him. If Lawler can’t answer for or call out reports of unethical behavior in his own office, how can Hudson Valley voters trust him?” |
