Six Months Into Iran War, Reminder That Jen Kiggans “Couldn’t Be a Stauncher Supporter” and Wiped Her Website to Remove Broken Campaign Promise

Kiggans’ unwavering support for the war in Iran will cost her seat

Today marks six months since the start of the Jen Kiggans-backed war in Iran that has no end in sight, and is forcing Virginia Beach families to pay record August gas prices at the pump. No wonder public support for the war just hit a new low this week.

It’s also a reminder that Kiggans said that she “couldn’t be a stauncher supporter” of the war in Iran even as gas prices skyrocket across Virginia.

And Kiggans secretly “removed parts of her campaign website discussing the cost of gas and the economic struggles of Virginians” which have skyrocketed because of her continued support of the war.
Now, the New York Times reports that Kiggans’ support for the Iran war is costing her support at home – even among Republican and Independent leaning voters.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
Jen Kiggans has been one of the staunchest supporters of the cost-spiking war in Iran, and it is a major reason why she is on track to lose in November. She campaigned on a promise to lower costs and invest here at home, but instead is shipping Virginians’ tax dollars overseas on a war in Iran that has made everything more expensive and put our servicemembers in harm’s way. Kiggans won’t be able to scrub away her support for this costly and reckless war of choice.”
