| Today marks six months since Donald Trump, backed by House Republicans, dragged the country into a war against Iran that has no end in sight and is forcing Americans to pay record August gas prices at the pump. No wonder public support for the war just hit a new low this week.
REMINDER: On the day he started the war, Trump declared it was “already a success.” A few weeks later in April, he proclaimed the war was a “Total and complete victory. 100%.” Six months later, all Americans have seen is a string of broken promises.
But it’s not just Trump who’s broken his promise to the American people.
House Republicans also promised lower costs on day one and no more new wars. Yet every single vulnerable House Republican voted to support funding for Trump’s yet-to-end war in the Middle East that has caused gas prices to spike.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Americans oppose the war, are pissed about higher gas prices, and are ready to reject every single vulnerable House Republican who supports it in November. Republicans’ broken promises are going to cost them the House Majority.”
