| Today marks six months since Donald Trump dragged the country into a war against Iran that has no end in sight, and is forcing Americans to pay record August gas prices at the pump. No wonder public support for the war just hit a new low this week.
REMINDER: On the day he started the war, Trump declared it was “already a success.” Then a few weeks later in April, he proclaimed the war was a “Total and complete victory. 100%.” Six months later, all North Carolinians have seen is a string of broken promises.
It’s not just Trump who’s broken his promise to the American people, so have Jennifer Balkcom’s D.C. backers.
House Republicans also promised lower costs on day one and no more new wars. Yet House Republicans – funding Balkcom’s campaign – voted to support funding for Trump’s yet-to-end war in the Middle East that has caused gas prices to spike.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“North Carolinians oppose the war, are pissed about higher gas prices, and are ready to reject Jennifer Balkcom in November because of her allegiance with D.C. Republicans who are funding this war-of-choice in Iran. Tired of the string of broken promises and higher costs, voters are going to reject Balkcom this November and send Jamie Ager to Congress to fight for them.” |
