| Today marks six months since Donald Trump dragged the country into a war against Iran that has no end in sight, and is forcing Americans to pay record August gas prices at the pump – and Californians even higher than that. It’s no wonder public support for the war just hit a new low this week.
REMINDER: On the day the war started, Trump declared it was “already a success.” Then a few weeks later in April, he called it a “Total and complete victory. 100%.” Six months later, all Californians have seen is a string of broken promises.
Jim Desmond has stood with the president every step of the way. Desmond dismissed higher gas prices as “no pain, no gain,” saying “President Trump is right.” As the war drains billions from American taxpayers – Desmond said “I support” it. And Desmond even tried to wave away rising gas prices altogether, saying they’ll just “go away once…this Iran issue, you know, goes away,” yet acknowledged it’s “bloody murder when the president’s actions…[cause] the gas prices to go up.”
He has also been SILENT on the deplorable conditions and 9 month deployment of the sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, San Diego’s own ship.
