Six Months Later, the Central Valley is Suffering from the David Valadao-backed Iran War

Californians’ gas prices are more than $5.60 per gallon and Valadao continues to fund Trump’s reckless war of choice

Today marks six months since Donald Trump and David Valadao dragged the country into a war against Iran that has no end in sight, and is forcing Americans to pay record August gas prices at the pump – and Californians even higher than that. It’s no wonder public support for the war just hit a new low this week.

REMINDER: On the day he started the war, Trump declared it was “already a success.” Then a few weeks later in April, he proclaimed the war was a “Total and complete victory. 100%.” Six months later, all Central Valley families have seen is a string of broken promises.

It’s not just the president who’s broken his promise to the American people, so has Valadao.

Valadao promised lower costs on day one, and yet he voted five separate times to continue the war, and voted to support funding for it – making Californians pay the price as their gas prices skyrocket. He has vocally supported the war, downplayed its effects, and broken his campaign promise to lower the cost of gas for Valley families.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Californians oppose the war, are pissed about higher gas prices, and have David Valadao to blame because of his continued votes to fund the war. Valadao’s broken promises are going to cost him his job in November.”
