WCCO: “Mills is one of the wealthiest people in the state”
Multi-millionaire Stewart Mills III this week released a slick new campaign ad wherein he desperately tries to look blue collar by walking around a salvage yard wearing boots and holding up car parts.
Ironically, Mills likely sunk thousands of dollars into this blatant attempt at covering up the fact that last year alone he made between $3,260,000 and $17,195,400 from family assets – and just caught a $1.2 billion windfall from selling off his family’s business to a firm famous for laying off workers and cancelling pension funds, casting doubt upon 8th District workers’ job security.
This clear divide between multi-millionaire Stewart Mills III and who he’s pretending to be on the screen has many scratching their heads, and resulted in a local news station calling this “a disconnect” for “many Minnesotans who are familiar with Mills.”
WCCO: “Remember who this is… This is a very wealthy family. He’s one of the wealthiest people in the state.”
“So yeah, he worked his way from the bottom up…at a Ford dealership that his family owned.” [WCCO News, 5/20/2016]
Sorry, Stewart. Guess you couldn’t pull the wool over people’s eyes on this one. Our advice: stick to what you do best.
