| The lying, phony, and fake moderates in the House Republican Conference are out with yet another meaningless letter – this time begging the Senate to scale back aggressive cuts to Medicaid. Yet, this comes just weeks after every single one of these ‘moderates’ voted to enact the largest cut to Medicaid in American history.
A group of 16 so-called moderate House Republicans are now hoping this letter will save them from backlash over their devastating vote to gut health care, as the Senate considers lowering the provider tax on states — a move that would cause even more Americans to lose coverage.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the House-version of the GOP Tax Scam would result in 16 million people uninsured by gutting Medicaid and failing to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. In addition, nearly 24 million people will see their monthly health care costs increase and over 300 rural hospitals could close.
