Sorry?

This morning, on the day of President Obama’s historic final State of the Union address, the NRCC promoted a video mocking the president that included two now-deceased Members of Congress.

The NRCC may have replaced the original video to feature all living former Members of Congress. But, when asked by both BuzzFeed and POLITICO, the NRCC declined to apologize for mocking the memories of two well-respected, former Members of Congress, who served in Congress for a combined four decades.

“Given that the Republican Party is increasingly defined by their frontrunner Donald Trump – who gleefully insulted one of our nation’s war heroes – perhaps it’s not surprising that the NRCC has followed his example by mocking the memory of two deceased Members of Congress. If Trump’s influence on the Republicans’ House campaign arm was ever in question, their refusal to apologize for the insult confirms it,” said Meredith Kelly of the DCCC.
