| Ohio farmers are getting crushed under a “double whammy” of rising fuel and fertilizer costs — with diesel prices hitting a record high last week — thanks to the reckless war in Iran that Mike Turner voted in lockstep to support.
According to a recent report from Cleveland.com, Ohio farmers are getting squeezed from all directions. Farmers who started the year paying $2–3 per gallon for diesel are now paying closer to $5 — a cost they can’t pass along to consumers when crops go to market in the fall.
Ohio farmer Michael Kilpatrick told Axios his fuel bills have nearly doubled from $400 to $700 and his container costs are up 30%. “If prices go up, we’re eating that difference,” Kilpatrick said.
Turner’s cost-spiking war compounds on the estimated $76 million in farm losses Ohio suffered due to Trump’s tariffs — which he voted to protect.
