| On Saturday, 5.5 million Californians lost access to their CalFresh benefits because David Valadao and House Republicans refused to return to Washington or negotiate an extension of Affordable Care Act tax credits – threatening health care for nearly 1.7 million Californians.
Earlier this year, Valadao voted to slash food assistance for more than 60,000 households in his own district – where 1 in 4 families rely on these benefits every month to put food on the table.
Yet, despite his clear record of undermining working families, Valadao showed up to a local food bank – meeting with the very constituents he’s left struggling to feed their families – all to pose for a photo op. |
