House Republicans continue to push legislation to restrict abortion rights nationwide
While most Republicans desperately tried to hide their anti-abortion at the RNC this week, Speaker Mike Johnson made it clear that House Republicans are in lockstep with Donald Trump and Project 2025 to restrict abortion rights nationwide – including in states where abortion rights are protected: “No one who believes in the sanctity of life or calls himself a pro-lifer is comfortable with where some of these blue states are going.”
In this case, their actions speak just as loudly as their words as House Republicans have voted for legislation to deny women across the country access to life-saving emergency reproductive care, to defund hospitals that train medical providers to perform reproductive health care services, and to block funding from being used to protect pregnant workers seeking reproductive care.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans will stop at nothing to ban abortion nationwide because they aren’t satisfied with the fall of Roe. Americans know Mike Johnson and House Republicans will never stop embracing far-right efforts like Trump’s Project 2025 to restrict abortion rights in every state.”
