Speaker Vote Round Two: Brian Fitzpatrick Sides With Jan. 6 Architect Jim Jordan

For the second time in 24 hours, Brian Fitzpatrick has voted for MAGA extremist Jim Jordan for speaker. Republicans’ “dealmaker” has had every opportunity to embrace a bipartisan governing coalition, but once again caved to the demands of Donald Trump and his MAGA colleagues.

In case Fitzpatrick forgot, Jim Jordan was one of the architects of Jan. 6. Here is a recap of his effort to overturn Pennsylvania’s 2020 election results:  

• Jordan voted to reject Pennsylvania’s certified electoral votes moments after the Capitol was overrun by pro-Trump insurrectionists.

• Jordan spoke at a “Stop the Steal” rally in Harrisburg shortly after Election Day.

• Jordan accused Pennsylvanians of trying to steal the election.

• Jordan asked the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out votes in PA-01.

“Brian Fitzpatrick always caves. He caved and voted to ban abortion, he caved and voted to cut funding for law enforcement and Social Security, and he caved and voted for one of the architects of Jan 6. When push comes to shove, Fitzpatrick sides with Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.”
