Extremist ringleaders Kevin McCathy and Tom Emmer don’t have to don costumes this Halloween to frighten the American people — their dangerous band of Republican recruits is terrifying enough.
Just ahead of the spooky Halloween weekend, CNN is reporting at least 12 of the NRCC’s “most prized” recruits to run in competitive districts fully embrace Trump’s Big Lie and some even attended the deadly January 6th insurrection where the Capitol was ransacked, police officers were beaten, and Americans died.
NRCC recruits in competitive districts — including Eli Crane and Walt Blackman (AZ-01); Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13); Karoline Leavitt, Gail Huff Brown and Tim Baxter (NH-01); Jake Evans (GA-06); Tyler Kistner (MN-02); Monica De La Cruz (TX-15); Derrick Van Orden (WI-03); and Jesse Jensen (WA-08) — have openly pushed baseless election fraud conspiracies.
“From wacky mad scientist conspiracy theories about the pandemic to pushing a nightmare scenario that Donald Trump should still be president, this year’s crop of the NRCC’s best and brightest is downright creepy,” said DCCC Spokesperson Chris Taylor. “Battleground voters across the country are spooked by House Republicans’ extremist candidates and will run away from their terrifying agenda in 2022.”
