This weekend, Tea Party Congressman Cresent Hardy pretended to show a modicum of political courage, but really just exposed himself as a desperate and calculated politician who is about to lose his seat in Congress. His too-little, too-late posturing comes only after shocking video footage that exposed Trump bragging about regularly groping women without their consent.
Hardy’s flip-flop was craven political behavior at its best. Hardy was still “100%” behind Donald Trump when he called women fat pigs and slobs, called Mexicans rapists and murderers, mocked the disabled, denigrated POWs – the list goes on.
Already this week Trump’s alleged history of sexual assault and potentially inappropriate behavior towards underage girls has deepened. Here is what he has been accused of in the last couple of days:
- Sexually assaulting two women
- Hitting on 10-year-old girls
- Physically attacking a reporter
- Walking in on “half-naked” Miss USA contestants
- “Barg[ing]” into the room while young women were naked
“Tea Party Congressman Cresent Hardy’s 11th hour flip-flop on his “100%” support for Donald Trump demonstrates he is a gutless politician who will do anything to hold onto power,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “At this point, it’s too late for Hardy to say anything to make up for enabling an alleged serial sexual predator this long.”
