Today, Bryan Steil’s Republican Study Committee held a press conference to introduce its extreme budget that would ban abortion and threaten IVF access, balloon the deficit, and reward the ultra-wealthy while raising costs for working-class Iowans.
Top among Steil’s disastrous policies is a massive handout to billionaires and big corporations. His budget extends tax handouts that benefit the ultra-rich over small businesses and the middle-class, and have ballooned the deficit.
Additionally, Steil’s budget would cut Social Security, privatize Medicare, and leave millions of Americans without quality health care coverage. It would even continue relentless attacks on individual freedoms by supporting the Life At Conception Act, a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions that would also effectively ban IVF.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Bryan Steil’s budget proves he has turned his back on Wisconsin families and will do whatever his party tells him to, including decimating Social Security, privatizing Medicare and banning abortion nationwide.”
