Stewart Mills III Keeps Revealing His Tea Party Roots

Inherited multi-millionaire Stewart Mills III once again revealed his extreme views in a guest column published today, wherein he doubled down on his opposition to the job-creating, pro-business Export-Import Bank.

Using talking points pulled straight from the Koch brothers’ website, Stewart Mills III cited dubious figures to justify his opposition to the Bank, joining the ranks of the most extreme special interest groups and reminding everyone that despite trying to run from it, Mills’ associations with the Tea Party run deep:

“When businesses large and small across the 8th District rely on the Export-Import Bank’s support for help, you have to wonder why Stewart Mills III would oppose it, but after having received thousands from the Koch brothers and other Tea Party special interest groups, it’s clear where Mills’ loyalties lie,” said Sacha Haworth of the DCCC. “It’s pretty hard to deny you’re a Tea Partyer when you’re quoting them as your source, but when you inherited millions from your family and don’t know what it’s like to make ends meet, it’s no surprise Stewart Mills III would only be interested in handing out giveaways to other millionaires. Minnesotans deserve a leader who isn’t bought and sold by special interests in Washington.”
