Stewart Mills III Says His Facebook Comments Were “Playful”

After refusing to respond to requests from women in Duluth – including members of the Domestic Abuse Intervention Program – over his outrageous comments that women should participate in oral sex for their health and jokes about “begrudgingly attending” the “Walk A Mile” awareness event for battered women, multi-millionaire Stewart Mills III amazingly continues to refuse to apologize.

Mills even recently doubled down on his claim that the recent publication of his off-color Facebook posts were “partisan, political attacks” in an op-ed in the Star Tribune, which amazingly glossed over the majority of his tasteless commentary.

Then, yesterday, Mills gave this tone-deaf statement:

“I never intended to ever run for office,” Mills said. “I’m a guy that did it purely out of patriotism and because I believe in the issues. If I had (intended), I wouldn’t have been so playful with my banter on Facebook, that’s for damn sure. Now they’re trolling through that and trying to manufacture a narrative that just is not true.”

“Well Stewart Mills, you are running for office now. And these kind of jokes aren’t ‘playful,’ they’re demeaning and gross. Oh yeah, and you still haven’t apologized,” said Sacha Haworth of the DCCC.
