Bruce Poliquin Will Say Anything to Get Elected
After embarrassingly telling the Portland Press Herald that he couldn’t comment on the revelations about Donald Trump’s disgusting words and sexual assault because he was about to march in a parade (seriously), Congressman Bruce Poliquin then under pressure released a pathetic five-word response to the revelations about Trump.
Not only did Poliquin refuse to directly address the serious issue of sexual assault raised by this account of Trump’s behavior, Poliquin refuses to rule out voting for and supporting Trump. Even worse, Poliquin gratuitously mentions that he happens to employ women in his congressional office, as if that makes it remotely acceptable for him to vote for a presidential candidate who has said what Trump has about women.
Perhaps most telling, Poliquin then spends half of his Trump response statement levelling absurd false equivalencies about Secretary Clinton, proving that not only will Poliquin support Trump – he’s intent on helping Trump become president.
“Bruce Poliquin’s backbone has been missing for months and today it’s clear it will never grow back. Self-preservation is Poliquin’s only motivation at this point, as evidenced by his pathetic statement barely criticizing Trump and refusing to rule out supporting someone whose comments are ‘repulsive,’” said Christie Stephenson of the DCCC. “It appears that Bruce Poliquin will say anything to get elected.”
