| Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson claims he is throwing together a last-ditch health care proposal as it becomes increasingly clear that the overwhelming majority of the American people will blame Republicans if they fail to address their health care crisis.
According to recent reports, it remains unclear whether the Deputy Speaker will include an extension of ACA tax credits in his proposal, which is no surprise since he’s disparaged it so many times.
While Deputy Speaker Johnson is pursuing a hyperpartisan path with little chance of passage, over the weekend, GOP Congressman Glenn Grothman admitted that the Democratic proposal to extend the ACA tax credits for three years would get a ‘yes’ vote, despite admitting “I probably shouldn’t say that.”
Will House Republicans join Democrats to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits and stop millions of hardworking Americans from facing skyrocketing premiums or will they continue to fall in line and allow costs to rise for millions?
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson doesn’t know what to do, and his ineptitude will result in millions of Americans seeing higher health care prices and cost Republicans the House majority.” |
