Tom Barrett is throwing a tantrum because he’s mad Michigan voters are hearing the facts about his votes to cut Medicaid and raise health care costs.
Unfortunately for Barrett, he can’t rewrite history. His record of cutting health care and raising costs will doom his re-election bid because Michiganders have had enough of his agenda putting money in the pockets of the billionaires at Michigan families’ expense.
Barrett’s record and what it means for Michigan families:
- Barrett’s vote for the Big, Ugly Bill will rip health care away from more than 23,200 people in MI-07.
- 23,000 people in MI-07 rely on now-expired ACA tax credits. Barrett’s vote against extending the tax credits means their premiums will go up by an average of 61% – and 8,600 people will lose their health care off the bat because they can’t afford higher premiums.
- Barrett even said the ACA tax credits “are not real tax credits” – unsurprising for Barrett given his penchant for cutting taxes for billionaires instead of middle class families.
