#TBT: David Young Votes to Strip Protections from Iowans with Pre-Existing Conditions

As the House votes to pass a bipartisan bill to protect people with pre-existing conditions today, we’re reminding voters of when ousted Congressman and current candidate David Young voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act – a move that would have taken away coverage for Iowans with pre-existing conditions. While Young has tried to mislead voters about his record on health care, the truth is that when faced with pressure from his special interest backers, Young caved and voted against the best interest of hardworking Iowa families.

Today’s vote shows exactly why Iowa voters chose Rep. Cindy Axne over David Young in November, and why they’ll do it again next year,” said DCCC Spokesperson Brooke Goren. “While Young repeatedly voted with his special interest backers to gut coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, Rep. Axne has a consistent record of fighting tooth and nail to make health care more affordable for hardworking Iowans.”
