Thanks, Jen Kiggans: Hampton Roads Lost More Than 6,000 Federal Civilian Jobs In 2025 [REPORT]

REMINDER: Kiggans was a strong supporter of DOGE

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans has unleashed deep damage on Hampton Roads.

A new report found that under Kiggans’ leadership, “Hampton Roads lost more than 6,000 federal civilian jobs in 2025.” The report specifically cites cuts to the federal workforce and tariffs as reasons for job-loss across the region – policies which have received strong support from Kiggans.

Reminder: Kiggans was a major proponent of DOGE – even as it took a chainsaw to Virginia’s federal workforce, uprooted Virginia’s economy, and hurt veterans. The Virginia Mercury reported that “Kiggans embraced the program from the outset” and championed its chainsaw approach as “so necessary.” And Kiggans has repeatedly voted to rubberstamp sweeping, chaotic tariffs that are jacking up costs for Virginians.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Congresswoman Jen Kiggans has been a disaster for Hampton Roads. She cheered on DOGE as it took a chainsaw to Virginia’s economy, supported reckless tariffs that are making everything more expensive, and voted to gut health care and allow premiums to skyrocket. Her record is indefensible.”
