| The Pew Research Center released new polling showing that Americans’ view and approval of Trump is in decline. The latest poll looked at measures about “the qualities needed to serve as president” and Trump is down across the board, even with Republicans, while his current approval rating is at a mere 37%.
Some key findings from the poll:
- Only 34% of Americans believe Trump has the leadership skills needed to do the job
- More than half (52%) say “they are not too or not at all” confident that Trump has the mental fitness needed for the job
- Only 25% believe that Trump respects the country’s democratic values
- 60% have “little or no confidence” in Trump acting ethically
Every day brings a new poll highlighting this Republican administration’s massive failure in every area — from health care, to affordability, to community safety. As a result of Trump’s harmful agenda and House Republicans that never fail to fall in line, Democrats are poised to win back the House in November.
DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“Republicans have done everything they possibly can to lose public support and trust. It’s like they’re trying to lose in November, and the American people will make sure that they do.” |
