Burns is a Threat to Abortion Rights
New Hampshire women and families should know Bob Burns is an anti-abortion extremist.
Burns supports a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or to protect the health of the mother. Burns’ ban would take away women’s freedom to choose with no exceptions before most women know they are pregnant.
Burns is an Anti-Public Safety Extremist
Burns opposes any “additional gun control legislation” and argued gun laws should be weakened. Burns said he would repeal all existing gun laws – allowing domestic abusers, criminals and the dangerously mentally ill to buy guns. And Burns would allow anyone to own fully automatic weapons and other weapons of war, used in mass shootings.
Ultra-MAGA Burns is Wrong for New Hampshire
Bob Burns is a MAGA Republican and would be a rubber stamp for their dangerous agenda in Washington. He was Trump’s Youth Coalition Chairman in 2016 and was endorsed by Trump’s 2016 and 2020 NH co-chairs. Burns has proudly stated he was “committed to supporting Trump” in future presidential elections, despite his hateful and dangerous agenda that divided the country.
Burn’s first vote in Washington would be for the destructive, anti-women, anti-worker, and anti-Democratic agenda of MAGA Republicans.
Burns, like MAGA Republicans in Washington, also wants to ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions for rape, incest, or to protect the life of the mother.
Burns and his MAGA Republican backers opposed a bipartisan infrastructure bill to help rebuild the 215 bridges and over 698 miles of highway in poor condition in New Hampshire, which cost Granite State drivers $476 per year. In total, these Republicans opposed $1.2 billion to improve New Hampshire roads, bridges, high speed internet access, and clean water access.
Burns sides with MAGA Republicans, opposing lowering prescription drug prices, fixing our supply chain, and taking on China, and creating jobs in America.
PATH TO VICTORY
Congressional races in New Hampshire are always competitive, and the 2022 cycle will be no different. The Cook Political Report rates this contest as a “toss-up.” But, Annie Kuster is a proven leader who is up to the fight. Granite Staters will handily vote to re-elect her this November. Rep. Kuster has been re-elected by a double-digit margin three times in the last four elections – including a 10-point win in the 2014 Republican wave. Rep. Kuster will be facing an electorate that already knows her very well, as this new district is 98% identical to the pre-redistricting version. At the top of the ticket, the Democratic lean of NH-02 is very clear, as Democratic presidential candidates have won the district in every election this century, with President Biden winning by 9 points in 2020 and improving on Hillary Clinton’s margin of victory by 7 points. This highly educated district is 4 points more college educated than the nation as a whole, making it unlikely that Republicans will find new success in NH-02. And with ultra-MAGA Bob Burns doubling down on his devotion to Donald Trump, whom the voters of New Hampshire’s 2nd district soundly rejected in 2020, Rep. Kuster is well positioned to win her sixth term in 2022.
