Subject: The Case Against Carrie Buck
Dina Titus is a proven fighter for Southern Nevada families. A dedicated public servant, Dina is leading efforts in Congress to lower costs for families, strengthen No Taxes on Tips, and keep communities safe. Named among the top three most effective Democratic members by the Center for Effective Lawmaking, Dina has a clear track record of delivering for Southern Nevadans. Just last month, her bipartisan legislation to construct a new water pipeline under Sloan Canyon was signed into law, which will help deliver clean water to more than one million Southern Nevadans.
At the same time she’s getting bipartisan bills signed into law, Dina is pushing back against the Trump Administration’s assault on Southern Nevada businesses, workers, and families. As Las Vegas reels from a “Trump Slump” marked by tanking tourism numbers, skyrocketing prices, and fewer shifts and tips, Dina is leading efforts to revitalize the local economy and put more money in people’s pockets by strengthening No Taxes on Tips. Dina is pushing back against Trump’s reckless tariffs that are jacking up prices and keeping tourists out of Nevada, all while pursuing real solutions to bring visitors back to Las Vegas. Dina is also leading the charge against a new Trump-led tax on gambling losses that taxes people on “phantom income,” meaning money they never actually take home – a policy change that could drive gamblers to unregulated offshore casinos, jeopardize local businesses, and put Nevada jobs at risk. And when Trump tried to bring back nuclear testing in Nevada, Titus fought back against any new explosive tests – and got the Administration to back down.
Meanwhile, out-of-touch extremist Carrie Buck is running to be a rubberstamp for D.C. Republicans’ cost-spiking agenda that’s decimating Southern Nevada. A loyal soldier to special interests, Buck has already shown she’s willing to hike prices on hardworking Nevadans. When she’s not failing to get any of her bills through committee – let alone the State Senate, Buck is voting to make life more expensive for Southern Nevadans, restricting a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body, or challenging her own election losses.
The choice couldn’t be clearer for Southern Nevadans. Come November, they will enthusiastically re-elect proven fighter Dina Titus – and reject out-of-touch extremist Carrie Buck.
An Ineffective Legislator Who Caters to Special Interests and Jacks Up Costs On Working Families
Southern Nevadans deserve a leader in Congress who gets things done. Unlike Dina Titus who has been named one of the most effective Democratic lawmakers in Congress, Carrie Buck consistently fails to deliver any results in the State Senate. In 2025, Buck was one of only two lawmakers “with a zero percent success rate” where none of her bills became law, and she was the only state senator not to have a single bill pass by the first committee deadline. The most recent legislative session was not a one time fluke: Buck was “the only Senate Republican to not pass any bills she sponsored during the 2021, 2023, and 2025 legislative chambers.” Buck also failed to pass any legislation by the first committee deadline in 2023, leading the Las Vegas Review Journal to dub her the “biggest loser” of the session.
When she’s not being an utter failure at getting any of her own bills across the finish line, Buck is voting to raise costs and make life harder for working Nevadans. As a state senator, Buck voted against paid family and medical leave for more than 60% of the state’s workforce, voted against raising wages for school employees, and voted against strengthening worker protections. She also sided with special interests over Nevadans by voting against lowering prescription drug costs. And despite representing the state senate district with the largest number of renters, Buck consistently voted against protections for tenants and against making housing more affordable.
As Nevada’s “Trump Slump” makes it hard for families to make ends meet, it’s clear that working Nevadans can’t afford Buck’s cost-spiking agenda. Nevadans know Dina Titus’ record of fighting to lower health care costs, make housing more affordable, and protect workers – and that’s why they’ll send her back to Congress over price-hiking Carrie Buck.
An Out-Of-Touch Elitist Who Would Rubberstamp Higher Costs on Nevadans
Southern Nevadans are among the hardest hit by D.C. Republicans’ cost-spiking agenda, including reckless tariffs and the GOP Tax Scam. Under Trump and Buck-backed tariffs, Nevada has seen a sharp decline in international visitors that Las Vegas’ economy relies on. As tourism plummets, working Nevadans are forced to pay the price: many have lost jobs, tips are fewer and farther between, and everyday people are worried about making ends meet. The last thing Nevadans need is another rubberstamp Republican like Buck to co-sign price-hiking tariffs weakening the economy.
Already struggling under Trump’s and Buck’s tariff regime, Nevadans are experiencing the fallout from the GOP Tax Scam, which guts affordable health care, stiffs working Nevadans, and threatens Nevada’s gaming economy – all to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Nearly 30,000 Nevadans in the First Congressional District could lose their health care, including many tipped workers – roughly 40% of whom nationwide depend on Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. Roughly 6,000 Nevadans already dropped their health insurance this year after D.C. Republicans refused to extend crucial subsidies that helped Nevadans afford care. All of these Buck-backed health care cuts could create a ripple effect that hurts everyday Nevadans, regardless of insurance. Health care facilities in the First District are expected to lose $12 million annually, a devastating blow that’s already forced Boulder City Hospital to shutter services. Meanwhile, multi-millionaires like Buck are on track to see major tax cuts – funded off the backs of working Nevadans.
Unlike Buck, Dina Titus is fighting back against the reckless Washington tariffs and Republicans’ devastating tax scam that’s screwing working people. On top of fighting to restore cuts to health care, Dina is pushing to strengthen No Taxes on Tips as D.C. Republicans’ slapdashed proposal “leaves many skeptical.” While D.C. Republicans made tax cuts for ultra-wealthy elites like Buck permanent, their version of No Taxes on Tips expires after just three years, is capped at $25,000, and is littered with loopholes that exclude many hardworking people. Nevadans have made clear that Republicans haven’t delivered what voters were hoping for. Unlike D.C. Republicans’ plans, Dina’s LIFT Act would better protect tipped workers while raising the minimum wage, and she’s backing legislation to permanently eliminate taxes on tips. Dina is also “lead[ing] the charge” against a Buck-backed tax on gambling losses, which could mean gamblers pay tax on money they don’t take home – a suckerpunch that could devastate Nevada’s gaming economy.
An Anti-Abortion and Election-Denying Extremist
Carrie Buck is way too extreme for Nevada. While an overwhelming majority of Nevadans agree that women should be able to make decisions about their own bodies, Buck is an anti-abortion extremist who repeatedly voted to restrict reproductive care. Shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Buck opposed efforts to enshrine reproductive freedom into the Nevada state constitution. Buck also voted against the right to fertility treatments, including IVF. If elected to Congress, Buck would fit right in with House Republicans who want to ban abortion nationwide.
Buck’s extremism goes beyond opposing abortion rights to refusing to accept election results. On top of questioning the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, Buck repeatedly and unsuccessfully pursued lawsuits and recall efforts to challenge her own election losses, leading to even her own party condemning her. In 2016, Buck “disgraced herself by becoming involved in a baseless recall attempt” of her former opponent, an effort that was tossed out in court due to thousands of invalid signatures. Five years later, Buck unsuccessfully ran for Chair of the Clark County Republican Party – a saga that led to multiple lawsuits and the Chair of the Nevada GOP accusing her of financial fraud as Buck tried to lead the party anyway. In 2022, Buck was even sent – and ignored – a cease and desist from the Republican National Committee to stop using their trademarked logo to represent herself as chair of the Clark County Republicans.
Dina Titus has never backed down in the face of extremism. A staunch supporter of reproductive rights and a defender of election integrity, Dina is the clear choice for Nevadans in November.

PATH TO VICTORY
Nevada’s First Congressional District has consistently elected Democrats at the congressional, gubernatorial, senate, and presidential level for more than a decade. In a midterm election year defined by a “Trump Slump” in Southern Nevada, souring attitudes towards Trump and Republicans, Democrats dominating on the generic ballot, and Democrats overperforming in congressional special elections by 17 points, voters will soundly reject rubberstamp Republican extremist Carrie Buck. Latino voters, who make up a quarter of the voting age population in this district, are already unhappy with Buck’s cost-hiking agenda.
Voters in Southern Nevada know Dina Titus fights for them. With a long track record of delivering and fighting back against price-hiking policies, Dina is the champion Southern Nevadans trust and want in their corner. With roughly 35,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans and ranked “likely Democrat” by Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball, NV-01 is ready to re-elect proven fighter Dina Titus this November. |
