The Case Against Doug Ollivant

“Having served our country in uniform and now in the halls of Congress, Eugene Vindman has shown he is a fighter who will stand up to the corrupt and powerful in order to do what’s right. In Congress, Eugene has worked tirelessly to clean up our broken political system that is costing Virginians and jacking up our prices. Doug Ollivant would be nothing more than a rubber stamp for Donald Trump and D.C. Republicans’ cost-spiking agenda. Virginians know they can trust Eugene to fight for them, and I look forward to welcoming him back to Congress,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.

Subject: The Case Against Doug Ollivant

Congressman Eugene Vindman has dedicated his life to serving our country, and he has answered the call to serve once again by standing up to the corruption in Washington in order to do what’s right for Virginia families. Throughout his 25-year long career in the Army, Eugene went from paratrooper and officer to prosecutor, and ultimately served under the White House as an ethics lawyer on the National Security Council. In Congress, Eugene has embarked on a new mission: lowering costs for Virginia families, combatting corruption in Washington, and standing up to attacks from MAGA Republicans to protect Virginians. Eugene puts country before party and service before self in order to defend our Constitution and deliver real results for Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District.

In just his first term in office, Eugene has already demonstrated that he is willing to fight back against the Washington corruption that is causing Virginia families to pay more for everything from gas to groceries. Eugene has seen up close that Washington is broken, there is too much corruption and greed in politics, and that career politicians are using insider information to get rich. That’s why he has introduced legislation that would prohibit former members of Congress from lobbying, because he knows that public office shouldn’t be a stepping stone to personal profit. It’s why he has a bill that would ban prediction market betting and stock trading for lawmakers and federal candidates, because there are too many politicians abusing the system while Virginia families struggle just to afford the basics.

Eugene is also fighting hard for our service members, veterans, and military families. In Congress, Eugene has fought to put more money back in the pockets of our nation’s heroes. He has introduced legislation that would lower drug costs for service members and veterans, because no one who has stepped up to serve our country in uniform should be unable to access the medication they need. He remains laser-focused on lowering prices for all Virginians, which is why he is working to lower grocery priceslower gas prices, and lower the cost of health care and prescription drugs.

Then there is swamp creature Republican Doug Ollivant. Ollivant is running to be a rubber stamp for Donald Trump and House Republicans’ cost-spiking agenda which includes ripping away health care, backing the reckless Iran war and tariffs that are making everything from groceries to housing more expensive, and supporting devastating DOGE cuts that have upended Virginia’s economy. He is handpicked by extreme D.C. Republicans who are bankrolling his campaign because they know he will follow their marching orders if he gets to Congress. Ollivant is an anti-abortion extremist who believes politicians should control Virginia women’s health care decisions. Virginians simply can’t trust Ollivant to fight for them because he is too busy falling in line with Trump and his party bosses.

Virginians have a clear choice in November. Eugene is laser focused on the issues that matter like lowering costs and cleaning up the corruption in Washington, while Ollivant would be nothing more than a yes-man for Trump and D.C. Republicans’ price-hiking agenda. Powered by incredible grassroots fundraising support, Eugene is in a strong position to win in November so that he can continue fighting for Virginia families.

PATH TO VICTORY

Eugene Vindman has a proven track record of standing up to corruption and delivering for Virginia’s 7th District. On the campaign trail, Eugene has proven to be a prolific fundraiser and holds a significant resource advantage over his cash-strapped and hobbled Republican opponent who is emerging from a bruising primary. As the environment continues to favor Democrats and Virginians sour further on the cost-spiking agenda being pushed by House Republicans, it is clear that Eugene is on course to win reelection in November.

Democrats have repeatedly demonstrated they can win here: both Vice President Harris and Eugene carried the district in 2024. Governor Spanberger romped to a 15-point victory in VA-07 last November, showing that Democratic voters are motivated to turn out and are fed up with the corruption and cost-spiking policies coming out of Washington. And Democrats have racked up consistent victories in statewide and congressional races for the past several years within these district lines. While Eugene focuses on doing the work for Virginians, Ollivant had to stumble through a messy Republican primary that has left him cash-strapped and deeply out of step with Virginia voters. Along the way, he even confused the congressional district he is running to represent multiple times. Republicans failed to recruit a credible candidate in this district and are playing from behind.

The bottom line is that Eugene Vindman has a proven track record of serving his country, and Virginians are poised to reelect him in November because they know he will fight the corruption in D.C. in order to lower costs for families.
