“North Carolinians sent Kathy Manning to Congress because they were sick and tired of politics as usual and wanted a champion to fight for them in Washington. That’s exactly what Kathy has done — and with perseverance, determination, and work ethic, she has delivered for North Carolina families by supporting small businesses, investing in infrastructure, and creating good-paying jobs across the district. North Carolinians will reject Christian Castelli’s toxic politics and re-elect Kathy this November.” – DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney

Subject: The Case For Kathy Manning in NC-06
Kathy Manning is a mom, businessperson, attorney, and a community leader who has spent 30 years bringing people together to make her community of Greensboro a better place for everyone. Now, she brings that same determination every day to Congress, where she fights for hard-working North Carolinians and delivers for North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District.
Kathy’s family story is the American story. Her dad worked for Ford Motor Company for decades, and her mom was a public school teacher. Both of them taught her the value of hard work and the importance of giving back to your community. That’s why during her time in Congress, Kathy has rolled up her sleeves and gotten to work, delivering pandemic relief to small businesses and families and passing a major infrastructure investment for North Carolina.
Kathy Manning has a true understanding of the issues facing North Carolina families – issues like health care, good-paying jobs, tackling inflation and rising costs, and a woman’s right to make her own reproductive health care decisions – and North Carolinians can count on her to work with both parties to get things done.
The same can’t be said of Christian Castelli, who would be just another rubber stamp for the extreme Republican agenda in DC.
The reception to Castelli’s candidacy has been one of vague confusion. Most of his anemic cash on hand – only $61,000 – has come from $140,000 in personal loans. When he’s not ducking questions from the press, he’s aligning himself with some of the swampiest personalities in Washington. Castelli embraced an endorsement from Ryan Zinke, Trump’s former Secretary of the Interior who “misused his position and lied to investigators […], repeatedly breaking federal ethics rules.”
In the wake of alarming reports that the Supreme Court of the United States is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, Castelli would spell disaster for North Carolina women. Castelli has made opposing reproductive rights a core issue of his candidacy: He believes life begins at conception and said “we must do everything in our power to protect the defenseless at every stage of life.”
The last thing North Carolinians need is another rubber stamp for the Republican Party that opposed infrastructure investments, good-paying jobs, COVID-19 relief for small businesses and families, and capping the price of prescription drugs. Voters will re-elect Kathy Manning this November.

“Manning in her statement: ‘If Justice Alito’s initial draft opinion stands, Americans, the majority of whom have never known a world without Roe vs. Wade, will be stripped of their constitutional right to abortion. Republican-controlled states across the country will immediately move to restrict or ban abortions.’” [Fox 8, 05/3/22]

PATH TO VICTORY
The path to victory for Rep. Kathy Manning to win re-election in North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District is clear. The new NC-06 spans the entirety of Guilford County including Greensboro, as well as portions of Winston-Salem in Forsyth County and all of Rockingham and the majority of Caswell County.
Voters in NC-06 have consistently supported Democratic candidates up and down the ballot in both state and federal races, and Congresswoman Kathy Manning is the perfect representative for this seat. In the new configuration of NC-06, registered Democrats hold a nearly 14-point registration advantage over Republicans in the new district, and more than 33% of registered voters are African American. In 2020, Democratic congressional performance in NC-06 under the new mapping configuration was 56.5%, and Biden received 56.3% of the two-way vote share. Governor Cooper received 59.6% of the two-way vote.
This district has only become more Democratic over time, and Congresswoman Manning will continue to represent NC-06 proudly. |
