The Democratic Path to Victory Will Be Powered by Latino Voters

Recent polling shows a clear trend: Republicans are bleeding Latino support thanks to their disastrous policies and countless broken promises. Republicans foolishly alienated Latino voters after they voted the Republican Party into power in 2024. According to a new poll from Economist/YouGov Latino voters prefer a Democrat candidate over a Republican by a wide margin of 43% to 27%

Additionally, Trump’s approval with Latino Americans is only 22% and shows a steep decline of 19 points.

The trends make it less and less likely that Republicans will be unable to flip any Democratic seats and, in fact, could instead lose those districts with high Latino populations. Some key takeaways about the state of the race (Punchbowl News):

The American people are focused on just being able to make ends meet, but Republicans have failed to do anything about affordability. They can only blame themselves for their abysmal approval.

DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“Latino voters are not going to give Republicans another chance in 2026 — they lost Latino support, and it will cost them the House.”
