Ivermectin is in the news again: In the largest trial to date, researchers found the drug didn’t reduce hospital admissions for COVID-19. For over a year, health officials urged against the use of ivermectin, which the FDA deemed dangerous in high doses.
That didn’t stop right-wing pundits and extreme Republicans like Yvette Herrell from hawking the drug. While a pandemic raged, Health Hazard Herrell spent her time spreading COVID conspiracies and lying to her constituents about how to treat and ward off infection from the deadly virus.
Thanks to the leadership of the Biden Administration, 75% of adult Americans are fully vaccinated and hospitalizations are down by 77%, which means Americans can begin removing their masks and returning to normal. Instead of joining Democrats in fighting for the end of the pandemic, Herrell chose right-wing conspiracy over the wellbeing of New Mexicans.
