The GA-02 GOP Primary Ends Like It Began: Pure Chaos

Accusations fly as the GOP candidates stagger across the finish line

With days left before the GA-02 runoff, GOP candidate Jeremy Hunt is facing a deluge of accusations and mudslinging as his primary opponents  Chris West and Wayne Johnson do everything in their power to drag him down.

Even though he didn’t make the cut off for the runoff, Johnson was not content with failure. The former Trump official just filed a civil racketeering lawsuit, alleging that  Hunt illegally coordinated with Fox News to bolster his campaign, going as far as interrupting the final town hall to publicize the accusations.

West joined Johnson in going after Hunt, reminding voters that  Hunt moved from Connecticut and rented an apartment in Columbus solely for the purpose of running for this seat.

All Hunt could do was eke out a pitiful defense against the well-executed tag team, calling the whole affair “dirty, low, sore loser politics.

DCCC Spokesperson Chris Hayden
“From beginning to end, this GOP primary was nothing but messy infighting. No matter who crawls their way across the line, voters are guaranteed more of the same catty, drama-fueled pettiness that has scarred the race so far. Georgians look forward to another two years of Congressman Bishop’s leadership and ability to deliver for his community.”
