Last Friday, the Ohio Republican Party officially endorsed Donald Trump for president in what the Cincinnati Enquirer called “a rare move that underscores the former president’s grip on state GOP officials.”
With this move, the issue has become unavoidable: will Republicans Chris Banweg and Kevin Coughlin in Ohio’s 13th congressional district fall in line with their state’s GOP establishment and endorse the former president?
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“The Republican party has become so beholden to Donald Trump that his extremism has become impossible to avoid. Whether Chris Banweg and Kevin Coughlin endorse Trump or duck the issue, they both will have to answer for a party platform that consists of election conspiracy theories, extreme abortion bans, and a renewed effort to tearaway health care from millions of Americans.”
