Weeks after former President Trump called for a GOP challenger to take on vulnerable Rep. Don Bacon, he appears to have A New Hope.
Jim Schultze, an Omaha IT professor who moonlights as Darth Vader, announced his plans to run against Bacon in Nebraska’s competitive second congressional district.
Schultze told the Nebraska Examiner he’d “consider cutting whole federal departments” and that he “does not believe Trump lost the 2020 election.” He also hopes to get the support of the disgraced former president, who has repeatedly called for a primary challenger against Bacon.

“You don’t have to be a Jedi to see the writing on the wall: Don Bacon is one of the most vulnerable House Republicans. On issue after issue Bacon has placed Nebraskans last, and now he faces an uphill climb just to hold onto the GOP nomination.”
