Across the nation, people are reading about the deeply unpopular positions on abortion held by California Republicans. With some of the GOP’s most vulnerable members scattered across the state, all eyes are on these members and their complicity in efforts to strip women of their freedoms.
Atop this list are Reps. David Valadao (CA-22), Mike Garcia (CA-27), Young Kim (CA-40), Ken Calvert (CA-41) and Michelle Steel (CA-45).
With Republicans poised to pass a national abortion ban if they retake majorities in the House, there has never been a greater need to kick anti-abortion Republicans out of office. California voters are ready to do just that. The hardline and deeply unpopular positions held by these incumbents, including co-sponsoring the Life at Conception Act, which would ban abortion nationwide, is now jeopardizing Republicans’ re-election chances.
“With only a handful of weeks left before Election Day, California’s vulnerable Republican extremists have fewer and fewer places to hide,” said DCCC spokesperson Maddy Mundy. “These anti-abortion Republicans will be held accountable for their continued attempts to rob Californians of their freedoms in November.”
